Tenders Electronic Daily is now on EVTenders

We have added Tenders Electronic Daily (TED) to EVTenders. It matters because it brings the historical record: the EV charging contracts UK public bodies advertised going back to 2016, including the years before Find a Tender existed. Here is what that adds.

The record before Find a Tender

Find a Tender only launched in 2021. Before that, UK public bodies advertised their higher-value contracts through TED, the European Union's official tender journal. So the early years of EV charging procurement, the frameworks and pilots that built the market, never reached the UK service most people search today.

Adding TED closes that gap. EVTenders now carries EV charging notices back to 2016, more than 350 of them so far, from the first supply-and-install frameworks to the programmes that put charge points on the map:

• Tayside Procurement Consortium's supply and installation framework, one of the earliest, in 2016.
• Go Ultra Low Oxford, Oxford City Council's landmark on-street charging programme, 2016.
• Nottinghamshire's early procurement of electric buses and their charging equipment, also 2016.
• The City of Edinburgh's first charge point framework in 2017, and later ChargePlace Scotland's national network operator contract.

Why the past is worth having

If you sell into EV charging, history is a guide. Knowing a council ran a framework in 2017, which supplier won it, and when it runs out tells you how the next one will look and who you are bidding against. The record is where the pattern lives.

And it is not only history

The TED data also surfaces routes that are still open. Take the M&Y Maintenance and Construction subcontractor dynamic purchasing system: worth up to £461 million, still open for suppliers to join, and its electrical works scope names vehicle charging points directly, alongside rewires, renewable technologies and street lighting. A dynamic purchasing system is not a one-off tender: it takes on new suppliers throughout its life, so it is a live route a charge point installer can still get onto today.
